Ford reported today that sales of NG vehicles tripled between 2010 and 2012. They sold 11,600 vehicles, which, according to Pike Research figures, would have amounted to 57% of all NGV sales. Ford also announced that it would begin selling a CNG version of the Lincoln MKT in 2014. Sales of the MKT are very low, and this would be targeted to the limousine market.
Among the other interesting comments in the article were those of Jon Coleman, Ford's fleet sustainability manager, who believes that sales to individuals will someday outpace fleets sales.
Although it's not specifically mentioned, I would guess that most, if not all, of Ford's NGV sales were Ford SuperDuty. If so, that news should be very good for WPRT seeing some return on its investment in Kentucky.
