Did you notice the shift in emphasis? It is a very common bait and switch.
The purpose of using renewable/sustainable sources is to reduce the catastrophic emission of CO2. Right. Now.
The purpose of using renewable/sustainable sources is "truly to provide widespread benefit for the world population as a whole"
So... WHAT was the purpose of pushing the renewables?
.... and worse, there is local pollution entailed in their production... so they TOO are unclean, no better than the CO2 emitting sources. Yet one can clean up or quarantine a local pollution issue... but cannot do the same for the atmosphere.
That said YOU have a point. They don't have a lot of sustainable sources available to them. The Germans are insane to be shutting down their nukes at this point.
