"There is no telling how long we are going to live. I feel as though I missed the bullet twice but no one can be assured that they will live to be 90 even if their parents lived that long. "

The males in my father's family all died in their mid 70s or before. Oldest brother (who was over weight and a smoker) died in 50s from heart attack. My dad and one brother died early 70s. Aunt made it to 83 or so.

My mom and grandmother both hit 82. Last five years had real bad arthritis. Both of them.

The real surprise was the runt brother of my dad's family. Thin, fairly short - 5'7, with a hypochondriac wife, they lived in NC. Never smoked. Never had kids. Wife made it to 88. He made it to 93. Just died last year. Wasn't all that athletic, but probably never weighed more than 135 lbs. Probably ate very healthy diet. Didn't drink.

So...I got hope.....but not all that much......nearly all of the rest of the family tree ends in their 70s....so I can't blow my money figuring I'm going to be dead by 80. Who knows? might make it to 90.
