Yet another prime example of why socialized medicine is a very dumb idea. They are concentrating on one measure and a poor measure at that.
And yours truly is a prime example of why BMI is misleading. I am about 6'1" and 195 pounds (more or less). My BMI is 25.7, so I'm overweight. But, I have body fat <10%. Plus you heard about my Spartan Race escapades so I'm definitely in great shape. But some pencil pushing geek will just fill in a blank, look at the number, and tell me to lose weight.
Try having a 5'6" body squashed down into a 5'-5'1". I'm within 5 lbs of my highschool weight, but all they'll look at is my weight and my much diminished height.
