I worked in high school and college (well, at least half of college). So maybe that makes a difference?

We're talking about an 18 year-old through finishing high school - they're not working full-time hours even if they have a part-time job. I worked in high school too once I was 16 - including every school day by my senior year. There's a big difference between having a job as a teen because you're saving for college or want spending money - versus having to keep a job once you're an adult to have health insurance or pay a mortgage.
