Do I need a will?
Another vote for yes. 3 scenarios - you die first, your wife dies first, you both die together. You need to consider all three.

I too prefer to do things myself, especially if they're reasonably simple. How about;
For example. the review for Quicken WillMaker Plus says Creating your own will is legal in every state except Louisiana. Quicken WillMaker Plus is excellent will software that is perfect for individuals looking to create a legal will, make a health care directive, direct financial powers of attorney and more.
I used Quicken Lawyer 2002 and was generally happy with the "interview" and the output. It also gave state-by-state requirements. Just a thought.
