International Living magazine has been pushing it as a top expat destination for quite awhile now... and suddenly the national news media is picking up on it as well. I myself have my eye on the place as a possible relocation destination in the not-too-distant future. I did find out recently that my telecom pension annuity qualifies me for Ecuador's Residency Program. (One of the benefits of qualifying for a residency visa is that you can enroll in the country's health care program, which is dirt cheap.)
