My youngest spawn assures me it is not the lobbying that is evil (it is in fact necessary as the politicians can't be expected to know everything) but rather the cheque... er check book that obligates the politicians to the lobby paying the bills.
If the cheque weren't passing to the congressperson me wonders if they would give a lobbyist the time of day.
And that cheque passing also seem to end up in toothless reform acts[Dodd-Frank}.
While I'd like to see the end of corporate/union monies flowing to gov't officials; that is a pipe dream that will never happen. Even if such reform was enacted; money would somehow still flow to those in power.
