Huh? Forcing people to buy insurance is a "free market"?
I don't know how it will work out, since whether the premiums are a deal or not will entirely depend on WHO the insurance companies pick up as policy holders -- how many that are being subsidized and on how many that are subsidizing.
It is those that will be subsidizing that they are competing for. I have to wonder what measures they will come up with to somehow winnow the group to those that are desirable risks.
You know -- the law of unintended consequences. :(
