nuclear warfare in Iraq - using depleted uranium munitions.

Depleted uranium s only slightly radioactive (that's why they call it "depleted") It's used in munitions and tank armor because it is one of the densest materials on Earth. The denser the metal, the more armor protection it provides.

A projectile made out of a denser metal can have a smaller diameter while packing the same wallop as a larger projectile made out of softer metal.
