And FWIW, I signed up for the free trial of years ago. Getting it cancelled was a huge PITA. They must have kept me on the phone for nearly an hour, putting me on hold and transferring me around, trying to convince me I didn't want to (or maybe it was that I couldn't) cancel.

AOL was also a sneaky company. They may have changed since then, but my first ISP was AOL. I went with my cable provider a few months later, and called to cancel AOL. The guy at the other end said that they would keep me on for another month to make sure I didn't lose track of anyone I was in contact with, and I said fine. A month later I noticed that they were still billing me, and when I called, they said that the free one-extra-month included continuing the service at the old price.

That just added to my loathing of them.
