"For one thing, I was in a one-car household for years, including when my children were little, so I have experience working around it and won't experience that OMG feeling if I'm home alone and carless." alstromeria

My 84 year old MIL told my wife last night she wants to get rid of her car and that she doesn't want or need to drive anymore. Her car insurance is due and the air conditioner doesn't work. It's a big old Chevy Impala and driving it is like driving a land yacht. I don't enjoy driving it at all. It's work.

I told my wife that I could take her mom wherever she wants to go. I don't mind. I have a little 2012 red Versa hatchback. It's like driving a go cart compared to the Impala.
