1% but not one of the richest. And it's due to (a) being raised by well to do parents (private school where he graduated in the middle of his class but got into Harvard anyway, connections through parents and schools), (II) although a weak student at Harvard at first, he began to work harder and graduated cum laude, (3) served in the Army after Harvard, despite being against the war, while the vast majority of his classmates avoided serving, (D) inherited farm land and a mine (I believe the proceeds go to his children), (5) did very well in business, much of it through good luck in timing--serving on the Apple board during its big stock runup, selling his TV station at a good time. And how did he get on the Apple board? His support of govt investment in computer technology goes way back, and Steve Jobs liked him.

Are these not all these benefits, luck and efforts of which you heartily approve? When acrruing to Republicans, that is ;-)
