I helped with the RYR board early on, but have not recently. I don't know how it has evolved.

Originally it was exclusively a retirement planning service, but subscribers asked for investment advice. Then they began to recommend certain mutual funds.

RYR is a reasonably economical way to address the issue and plan your retirement. Of course a financial planner can do it for you for a fee. But I think we are talking about those who prefer the hands on DIY approach. I'm for that as then you know what assumptions were made, how the numbers work, and that puts you in better position to understand when or if some change of plan is needed.
