If it works for you to not be "fashionable," that's great! I spent the first two years of retirement blissfully unfashionable (unless geek goth grandma is a fashion). And it worked for me because I didn't see very many people day to day.
City life seems to mean a step towards some sort of "fashionable," or dealing with feeling like I look "off" which isn't very comfortable. I thought J. Jill would be helpful but they seem to try to compensate for what they think an older woman's body looks like, so a lot of their clothes are so loose-fitting around the middle they look like maternity tops.
Not that I've found anything at Saks etc. that I really liked much better.
Although if I ever did find something there that fit right, felt right, and looked right, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Of course, that would mean going to the mall, so probably not something that's going to happen.
