These two programs should NEVER have been instituted to begin with; likewise, SNAP (food stamps) and Social Security. But we're stuck with these librul entitlements now.
I think the argument that Federal government doesn't have constitutional basis to provide healthcare services is settled and accepted by everyone.
Federal government health services, what you call entitlements, available to and availed by everyone for many decades. I don't recollect when GOP controlled congress and white house there were any attempts to repeal.
The last republican government had actually extended the medicare program.
Adding to these unsustainable entitlement programs is what we're arguing about
The fiscal responsibility argument has no merit. The last republican government expanded Medicare at the time of 2 wars along with 2 major tax cuts. None are paid for. No one objected it.
Suddenly you might wake up and claim now fiscal responsibility is very important but there is no credibility to that argument. Also, fiscal responsibility defenders also simultaneously argue for increasing defense budget and not fixing tax loopholes and raising taxes, etc.
No one believes in fiscal responsibility. It is an argument for expenditures that they don't like it.
In any case, this doesn't justify why it should be done at state level but not at Federal level.
