Prime example was the last surgical patient I dealt with last night. Brief history: 43 year old, hypertensive, insulin dependent diabetic, with acute renal failure, and morbidly obese. Oh, forgot one minor detail, totally noncompliant with all medical care and off all medications for at least the past 4 months. Really?

So how is Obamacare involved? Well, when she is discharged from the hospital (assuming she doesn't die, a very good possibility) she will "bounce back" with some complication. At that point, it is obviously the hospital's and physician's fault, and they won't get reimbursed.


I'm not sure you understand how the reimbursement reduction works. As of right now, it's only for AMI, heart failure and pneumonias. And it's a comparative model among similar facilities:
