The problem is that the press itself yelled the loudest when the study was brought up.

The Wall Street Journal broke the story a week and a half ago.. or at least presented the skeleton of a story.

It lay dormant for a few days, until a handful of Republican Congressmen got ahold of it and began bellowing that Obama was a dictator, getting ready to censor the press.

At that point, it immediately went viral in right wing blog-land.

Four days ago, I did a google search using the terms "mewsroom monitors"

The results ran for pages: I only looked at the first three pages of results.

There was the origianl WSJ article... FOX and three pages of just about every right wing blog in the country that you could imagine.

At that point, no reputable news outlet had touched the story. It was strictly a phenomenon of the Right Wing Sound Machine..
