In 1999, community college in California was only $11/credit hour - totally doable.
Now, it's $46/credit hour - which is still somewhat doable, and less than the $54/credit hour I paid in FL as a resident in '97.
But the state university?
In 2004, tuition and fees for the local state school were just over $600/semester for 12 credit hours.
This year, it's almost $8,000.
That's quite a leap in a decade.
