Subject:  Ss at 62 for younger spouse? Date:  3/3/2014  11:23 AM

My husband had to take SS at 62 due to illness. My own SS is smaller than half of his. If something happens to him, my understanding is that I'd get full spousal benefit, no matter if I start collecting my own benefit at 62 or later. We are wondering if there is any benefit to my waiting to collect... I will surely be collecting based on his SS, not mine. Would I get the same percentage of his benefit at 62 or 65? Or a smaller percentage of his if I take SS at 62? He is older, and my family is long living, so I want to do whatever benefits me should I reach a very old age...
Thanks for any help.
