The Fool: Tell us about Your Dumbest Investment... and the lesson you learned from it.
athomp10: My dumbest investment? How about my dumbest non-investment. I was 21, had $7000 sitting in my underwear drawer and had been watching Domino's Pizza stock fall and fall and fall. I worked as a manager there at the time and told myself I'd buy their stock when they hit <$5. Well, they went all the way down to $3 and I still couldn't pull the trigger because I was afraid of losing my money. Today those stocks are in the $50 range meaning that I already cost myself $116,650 by the age of 26. I knew those stocks would go up in price and yet I still couldn't do it. Big mistake. I'd have a huge downpayment on a house by now or at least a pretty solid amount of money to diversify.
