The Fool: What's the best product you use that most people don't know about?
TooTall100: The Logitech Harmony 550 universal remote works well with all my aging entertainment devices, amazingly. I use the Zoom R24 multitrack digital recorder. I drive a 2010 Golf TDI, its great, but hardly unknown. I use Netflix steadfastly. Old spice deodorant, etc. I cook my own food (salads and salmon).
The Fool: To what extent has your financial success, or lack thereof, been the result of luck versus skill?
TooTall100: Good question. Not screwing up is the main thing. I inherited some money and didn't spend it, I invested it and followed David's guidelines, plus my own instincts. Turns out David's are better than mine! I have done OK with my picks, but substantially better following David's.
The Fool: Are there any local companies in your area that Fools should consider for investment?
TooTall100: Yes, Toomay Technologies! We are not public yet, so maybe we will be MF's first venture capital project.
The Fool: What's the one thing you'd MOST like to see The Motley Fool add to our service or improve upon?
TooTall100: I like it. The caps are pretty much search PROOF, which doesn't suit a DBA like me very well. I would like the Fool to offer a raw data service where I could get daily market close data, PLUS all the earnings stuff as it becomes publicly available for the entire market, in a format we can easily automatically load into a database, like XML or comma delimited text.
The Fool: What's been your best investment to date, and how did you discover it?
TooTall100: Netflix, courtesy the Fool. I bought at 20, sold at 290 !!
The Fool: Do you have a favorite company or stock which the worldwide Foolish community should know about -- and why?
TooTall100: Bloomberg on radio and on their website. Excellent source for financial info, also great innovation in how to watch TV. But you can't buy stock in them.
The Fool: List some of your favorite websites, with commentary where appropriate. (Please provide the URLs, too.)
TooTall100: http://www.google.com/finance?q=indexdjx:.dji,indexsp:.inx,indexnasdaq:.ixic, FANDANGO, Charles Schwab my broker, Netflix, Amazon
