A little unsolicited advice regarding performance, though; how have your funds fared compared to the S&P 500 over the same time period? If they're doing poorly because the market is doing poorly, you might want to rethink the move.

I was unhappy with the returns compared to the S&P500, as I do hold that Index 500 fund with Vanguard. I will look into Primecap. Thanks. Have you any experience with VIGRX, another Vanguard index fund? Also thought I might try the Foolish Four-RP approach. Looks like it would have outperformed the particular funds I'm in.
Have you any thoughts on the double taxes I was told about the annuity? Again, many thanks.-Kathleen
