A local grocer had fryers on sale for .59 per lb. I roasted it today, basting it with BBQ sauce. It came out delish.

Today was also the time to throw out my last rotissery chicken in the fridge. I decided to clean and reuse the container it came in. Turned out to work great. It is just the right size. And since they keep those rotissery chickens heated at the grocery store, then I knew it could take the heat of my newly-cooked chicken right out of the oven.

There's an even more arcane use for old chicken. Jet engine manufacturers fire them at their engines while they're running to see how the engines will hold up if a bird is injested during take-off.

I found an old freezer burned chicken today. Maybe I should call Pratt & Whitney to see if they need it.

Either that or I'll auction it at Ebay. Some people will buy anything.
