A lot of that is way over my head, of course. But I get the gist that it's arguing against the disparity of standards that exists between different classifications of lending desk-riders.

Good. I'm against disparities like that. But I doubt they're going to go away.

In Texas, just for example, the state code requires anybody doing electrical work be licensed, anybody doing HVAC work to be licensed, etc. Oh, except for those people who meet the requirements of an official exception. Like working for a railroad. Or like working for a utility company. In other words, those organizations large enough and with enough pull to have gotten themselves a free pass when those codes were written.

I imagine a big bank fraternity of lobbiers club to have such pull.
