On Monday afternoon, a good friend of mine and former student, Todd Treadway, was out for a ride. Just cruzin' on a beautiful, warm, West Texas day. I was out doing the same, but along the New Mexico state line. About 2:30 in the afternoon, a pickup ran a stop sign and killed Todd. He leaves behind a wife, also one of my former students, and two children.

I know we are supposed to morn for the victims of 9/11, but 46,000 people die every year in traffic accidents. No one is raising millions of dollars for these victims' families . Speeding and failure to yield right-of-way are the two biggest reasons. When are we going to start a war against stupid drivers. I'm more terrified of SUV's than militant Islamics.
