Presently I have VFINX as an IRA. I also have a regular portfolio containing the likes of CSCO, TYC, IBM, and DH which historically has blown away the S&P. My question is should I create another IRA containing these four companies, splitting my yearly contributions evenly? I have another 30 or 40 years until retirement and figured the added risk could increase my nest egg more than the IRA alone could. Eventually I would adjust things more conservatively as I grew older. Any comments from those in the know?
