A node city is still "ground zero" to present weapons.

Clearly true.

The efficiency comes from having plenty of infrastucture, including public transportation, etc. close by.

Most node cities struggle to provide public transportation sufficient to make living without a car a reasonable proposition. Strip cities make that issue all the worse.

The intensity of entertainment, dining and work options available in a node city will exceed strip cities, too.

I don't think node cities are declining relative to strip cities, in the next 100 years, because of all the benefits.
