A POA (power of attorney) can be granted to anyone over the age of 18 (or 21 if your state majority age is 21). POAs can have more than one person listed, but a word of caution to make certain that the mulitple people have the same ideas and beliefs as the others selected otherwise it can be an ugly court battle.

We have clients who do this for medical POA since one child may not be as close at hand as another in any given period.
