Today I wrote and mailed the check that will pay off my 401(k) loan.

$11,812.63 of debt bites the dust.

My e-fund took a hit of about $3,000 to make it happen. I can live with that; the total in my savings account is still above the number that allows me to sleep at night.

It doesn't really feel like a happy dance moment. More like how you might feel after you walk across the desert and make it to the other side. Just some relief, and a little worry that the desert isn't really done with you yet.

Come to think of it, I think I'll celebrate with a drink of water.
