A very good alternative to bonds and CDs which yield close to ZERO is large, mature, stable demand companies that pay good dividends. Market risk can be hedged by a covered call writing program which can produce income to supplement the dividend yield. I have been retired early since 1995. I own no CDs or fixed income securities at all.

My investments are all equities as well as Venture Capital investments in promising, still private growing companies.
