AARP insurance policies

Are these really AARP policies or just another company that contracts with AARP for access to their members?

For example: AARP does not have its own medicare insurance but their members may buy such through AARP - but the insurance is with/was with United Healthcare.

I am not aware of AARP actually having their own insurance company. It is possible that those rates are contracted with another company - and the reason why the cost may be higher may be due to AARP getting a cut. *shrug*
