About 5 years ago, I did the same thing by consulting on the side. Bit me hard! I should have been smart and done the tax estimation and payments, but didn't. After looking through all this tax, accounting, reciepts, etc etc etc, I decided it just wasn't worth the anguish and my "off work" hours out of my life and the families life.

I don't bother, or else just do bits for free or barter for a chicken or a goose or sack of grain....
