actionnoodleYou seem to approach this matter as if you get nothing from the government. If you pay Social Security, you eventually be able to collect some Social Security payments assuming you get at least 20 years of payments credits. The same goes for Medicare A (hospitalization). Hopefully, you will not ever heed hospitalization, but, if you do, Medicare A is very worthwhile. When I had a spine operation 6-1/2 years ago, Medicare paid $100,000 of the expenses and my back up insurance paid $5,000, and I paid about $20. I presume your huisband has heath care insurance that covers you, but what happens when he reitres or, perish forbid, you get divorced (after all half of the marriages do end in divorce).Don't you feel it is reasonable that since you are working for money that it is only reasable to pay something towards things like your safety which is provided by the government. This not only covers things like the military which prevents invasion of our country, but also many other things like meat inspection, clean water, clean air, and ensuring we have a healthy agricultural business so that when you go to a store, there is food to buy, among many other things. You don't want to be a free loader do you? Be proud that you are making your contribution!brucedoe
