Actually it is pretty simple to start a Roth. You can even go to an online broker like E*Trade or SURETRADE, fill out a form, send in some money (less than $2000 per year) and BAAAM!, you have a Roth.

Once the money is in the Roth IRA account, you can just let it sit there and earn the normal savings rate of about 2% per year. OR you can invest it any way you choose (Mutual Fund, Index Fund, Stocks, CDs, etc...)

That is a Roth, and starting at 24, it is a GREAT choice!
