Agree whole-heartedly about turkey bacon...bought it once, actually threw it out, and I really hate to waste food. bleah! We had real bacon today, with homemade buckwheat pancakes (just one slice of bacon apiece and 2 small pancakes...lest you think us terribly decadent ;-)It was 75 here today, almost no wind, not so much as a cloud let alone any rain. T-shirt & shorts weather. We walked down the old Pitt Street bridge (called something like Pickett's Charge or Picket Recreation Area or something...). Closed to traffic, just for walking, fishing and birdwatching now. We watched the fog rolling into CHarleston Harbor toward the city...reminded me of San Francisco.http://mountpleasant-sc.patch.com/listings/otis-picket-bridg...The we went to Whole Foods to buy a couple of ingredients for ragu alla bolognese--ground grass-fed beef and pork. Followed Lidia Bastianich's recipe. mmm. With broccoli and salad. Then hubby made us little ice cream sundaes with homemade chocolate sauce and toasted almonds. Feels like a Friday night...watching an evening of Castle reruns.http://theheatnyc.blogspot.com/2010/01/lidia-bastianichs-sun...
