Agree with you about Jesus, disagree on Benedict. There was a difference:
Jesus felt forsaken when he had nails hammered through his hands and feet.
Benedict felt forsaken while sitting in the lap of luxury, and in full
command of correcting all that was wrong with his church.

IF you think many Christians do not feel forsaken by events, in particular the clergy and the true faithful who pay attention to his message as opposed to those who just want to rip him up(no offense meant here, but it is a very big group) you are mistaken

It was a message to the faithful that you are not foresaken and that feeling that way in a moment of weakness can impact even the most faithful and loyal, but God is there for you.

This he was feeling sorry for himself garbage is insanely silly.
