Petey, it was a joke. I guess it didn't translate well.

Would that not make it sound like you were interested in money more than life? I always think money is a delicate subject to discuss after you've got to know someone a while and have reached a comfort level where it might feel less forced. It is also why it is not always easy to determine the kind of person you are with saver/spender until it is too late as it takes time to see what is going on. Many can look like they are spending buy have a regular savings plan, so it can be deceptive!
