Almost all the photos I posted I took with the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. Most of the time I was stopped down to f/8 or f/11, because I wanted to shine a fair amount of flash on my subject to get the full colors.

So, Gus, I probably incorrectly assumed that the 18-55mm lens would be the best "all-around" lens for a beginner (like me). Since it is the lens that comes with the camera (I'll buy the IS version on your recommendation), I just thought I should start there. What do you think? Do you have something else in mind?
