Also I don't know how long and how well he will follow-up with speaking to his school counselors (the one at either his current public school he doesn't yet feel comfortable with, or the one I believe is from his former private school).

For me it's a waiting game and hoping that he understands our discussions well enough and that he's motivated to follow through. With other activities, things that I hope would take only a few days takes him literally weeks and months. The time frame is probably due to his lack of motivation and agreement with me, but I know he isn't well organized or good with following through on his own.
