Also, why do you assume that most of this audience is not familiar with the concept of FIRE? Just curious.

Heh, heh....You are not in the class with me, are you?

I think the average American is under the impression that retirement is for old people and that unless they win the lottery or a rich relative kicks the bucket, they will never have enough money to retire.

The teacher must have faith in me to put on a decent presentation. I had to sit through her looking over everyone's lesson plans and I saw a few get rejected and many minutes spent going over others. I was with her for about a minute or two.

We had to do impromtu presentations first thing this morning. I am a somewhat shy person, but I have confidence in my ability to know something about a lot of things. So, I figured whatever word I was given to talk about, I should do just fine. I did just fine, but the word was not the easiest one for me to talk about.

It was cumberbun. Yeah, I know what one is and I've worn one several times, but it's still not the easiest thing to talk about for 3 minutes. But, I did and according to what the teacher told me I must have done a pretty good job.
