Well, here's an interesting question:

What is the least amount of money a couple would need to retire on if they are planning on living a not lavish lifestyle. Eating out only a couple times a week. Living modestly -- no MacMansions.

Could they do it on only $300,000 in savings?
Would it take $500,000?
What would be the least amount they could live on?

It depends very heavily on where they live. In Oklahoma they might make it on 300K; in Northern California, not a chance.
