AM: :Then I can only assume that you are for an end to Bush's tax cuts "

No...I am for government taking the necessary action (that is Congress) to rationalize SS and Medicare going forward.

The way you do that is to contain health care costs.

First, you immediately establish a medical information sharing database - to eliminate paperwork errors, the prescription errors that kill an estimeated 1 million a year, and cause untold harm to others.....

Then you go after those who are making us the 'nation of fat' - the worst in the developed world....... with a managed health care program like the one just described.

AM: " -- and this interminable war in Iraq."

Get used to are in WW3, and have been for 10 years, and will be for the next 20-30 years. It is all about oil and the protection of access to the Mid Eastern Oil fields that will occupy us (and China and India) for the next 20-30 years.

We are addicted to oil, and most of the future oil is either coming from Saudi, Iraq, Iran, or other hostile countries (Venezuela, NIgeria, other African countries - like Somalia (dafur nearby to oil areas).

The USA needs that oil. We use 25% of the worlds oil, and are 5% of the world's population. Meanwhile, China is moving ahead with annual demand increases of 6 to 7% per year, compounded.

There won't be enough oil to go around. It is 'musical chairs' and no one wants to be left without a chair.

Why do you think we have 50 different military faciliies in the Middle EAst, most of them NOT in Iraq? Protection of the oil routes and protection of the countries (UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi) shipping tens of millions of bbl of oil a day.

And don't tell me we get XX bbl of oil from Saudi so we could really get by without it. It is worldwide supply. If that is lost, the rest is divvied up from the other suppliers based upon contracts and willingness to pay for it. Lose 10m bbl/day from Saudi, and the world price of oil will be $300/bbl, and all economies will go into immediate tailspins.

It's all about the oil. They have most of the reserves, and will have the largest reserves shortly as everyone else pumps themselves down to the bottom of the barrel.

Oh, we are not running out of oil - we are running out of the capacity to produce more each year...and soon, it will be we can't even maintain production at peak level.
