Since the America the Beautiful commemorative quarters program began in 2010, I think I've found exactly one in circulation, a 2012 El Yunque issue. By contrast, I've found almost all the 50 states quarters in change. I guess I'll have to look up the mintage numbers, seems these might be scarce?

ummm, didn't mean to post that last table but somehow I did. Anyway, yes, I should have done some searching first, mintage figures are way down...

Production Levels for America the Beautiful Quarters Continue Lower

For the first two years of the series, mintages were at extremely low levels on a historical basis. The production levels for the start of the third year have moved even lower.

I've only found one or two myself. I asked the guy at a local coinstore about it and he said even he has trouble getting them because they aren't meant to be in circulation. They are supposed to be collectors items only but ocasionally some people spend them. The government may even let out a few for spending, but only to raise interest in them.

At least that's what he said. It sounded right.......

Probably approximately right ... the US Mint site indicates that all 2010-2021 quarters, including business strikes, will be ATB coins. But since there is currently a quarter glut, very few are being released into circulation. So it's not actually by design, but the end result is the same.
