Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions about the following products:

American Funds American Balanced A
American Funds Capital Inc. Bldr A
American Funds Frth Fund of Amer A

These funds are front-end loaded. It is my understanding that one can purchase C shares that do not had a up-front load. What are the pros and cons of purchasing "A" shares vs "C" shares?

It has been explained to me that if you plan to hold on to the mutual for more than 5 years, you would come out better by purchasing "A" shares.
