Amy!

My wife and I are on the same boat! I considered HEL and DMCCC, but because of wise input from Fellow fools: Leviathan, cleem, esthermae, and thriftygirl (I especially loved her inspiring input), I decided to take on my creditors myself. Please see my post and responses under Debt Management. I believe that since we are in similar situation, these messages will help you decide (there's only six of these messages, but were enough to get my answer).

If you decide to go on your own to re-negotiate your rates, use the following site for guidelines:

It worked for me! Also, see guideline at the bottom of this message on how to dig yourself out of debt.

Good luck! I sure would like to see how you are doing since we are in similar situation. I need a debt "workout" partner to spot me!!

:)) O.
