To Cupid:

Thanks bro, I have to believe it was you looking out for me, and who placed that thought into my head. After five months of dating, and achieving success in navigating through a birthday gift at the one month mark, Thanksgiving and Christmas logistics, a fun New Year’s Eve event, we came upon Valentine’s Day.

Having set expectations that I wasn’t passionate about this manufactured holiday, I arrived at my date’s home with take-out Thai and a bottle of wine. When she welcomed me, I knew something was different beyond the new red sweater, but couldn’t place it. That’s when you had me say, “did you get your haircut, it looks really nice?”

Noticing and complimenting a woman’s new haircut turns out to be a fine Valentine gift.
