Have you agreed (verbally or in writing) to go with him?
Have you paid him any money?

If not you aren't legally committed to him. (Although you'll have to answer for yourself for any matters of conscience)

I am considering applying for a loan elsewhere because of these high broker fees.
A broker's fee of $2k may not be unreasonable.

My purchase loan used; and I'm refinancing through Both were able to give me an approval quite quickly, (pending receipt of supporting documentation - sales agreement, W2's, etc.)
