And for the ones who got divorced, remarried, maybe 2-3 times.....had oodles of kids...they might not have enough saved up.....

You hit the nail on the head. I'm still with the first and only DW, but many of my peers have been through one, two, and sometimes three wives along the way down the career path. It costs, it really costs to get a divorce. The huge problem is when the 45 to 55-year old guy remarries a pretty young thing, who wants her own kids. There's nothing quite like having kids in college when you're 70 years old. Dumb, just plain dumb.
