And unless you are in the heart of a large city, if it comes out you are going to use public transit to get to your job, it will count against you on your application.

There are some very good jobs that are simply not available unless you have your own transportation. The offices are out in the suburbs, and if one or two buses go through the area once a day, that's it. You can't work overtime, you're limited as to what hours you can work, you can't work late shifts (Boston's public transportation shuts down around 1:30 am - I've refused job opportunities because of that).

Until you've tried to live, for month after month, without transportation, you have no idea how exhausting it can be.

If this group can give people an opportunity for better jobs, better choices, and a better life, then good for them.
